Final Day of the Project – Part 1

We began this glorious day with our final dance rehearsals, knowing the people of Kütahya had great expectations from us. Our group photo had been proudly displayed on city billboards and LED screens — a sign of how much this project meant to the local community.
After completing our preparations, we all had lunch together, then headed to Germiyan Street in two VIP minibuses specially arranged by the Mayor of Kütahya. At the entrance of the street, we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Yıldırım Akgül, Director of Culture and Social Affairs of the Municipality.
With a festive cortege, we made our way to the performance square, accompanied by the modern Eskişehir Band dressed in elegant red uniforms. Their music gave life and rhythm to every step we took.
Then came a lovely surprise — our dear Dominika asked for my help in communicating with the band. That’s when we discovered that she could play the saxophone! She asked to borrow the saxophonist’s instrument, and after a brief chat, the band kindly agreed.
Dominika then joined the band, and to everyone’s delight, the Hungarian participants performed their folk dances accompanied by her live saxophone performance.
Afterward, a local folk dance team joined our participants in shared traditional dances. And when the music for the “Damat Halayı” began, the entire square locals and guests alike held hands and danced as one.
