How Italy Stole My Heart (And Gave Me a Second Home) by Aysegul CEVIK
In about a month, I’ll be finishing my project, and I still can’t believe how fast time has passed. These five months have been truly wonderful. Not only did I get to experience life in Faenza, but I also had the chance to visit many incredible cities such as Rimini, Ravenna, Bologna, Rome, and Florence. Each trip gave me unforgettable memories and helped me discover so many beautiful places.
What made this experience even more special was the people I met along the way. Everyone has been so friendly, warm, and welcoming that adapting to a new environment felt surprisingly easy. I felt at home from the very beginning, and that sense of connection made my time here even more meaningful.
I also had so much fun in all the activities we did together. We organized some wonderful events where I had the chance to introduce my own country, which made me really proud. I even visited different schools in Italy and gave presentations about Türkiye, sharing our culture, traditions, and unique stories with the students. It was an amazing experience to represent my country and to see how interested and excited people were to learn about it.
Looking back, I’m grateful for every moment—every conversation, every new discovery, and every adventure. It’s hard to believe that it’s almost coming to an end, but I know these months will stay with me forever.
