Romanian Students Become Cultural Ambassadors in Turkey through “Folk Dance Fiesta”
Seven students from Colegiul Tehnic “Valeriu D. Cotea” in Focșani, Romania, represented their country by participating in the international project “Folk Dance Fiesta,” held from 9–15 June 2025 in Kütahya, Turkey.
The project brought together young people from Turkey, Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia around the values of cultural diversity, inclusion, and a shared European identity. Throughout the event, the students took part in folk dance workshops, intercultural learning sessions, and social activities.
One of the highlights of the project was the Cultural Night, during which each country presented its unique traditions, folk dances, cuisine, and music. The Romanian students captivated the audience by showcasing authentic products from the Vrancea region and performing a folkloric dance. They expressed pride and excitement at having the opportunity to share their culture with their European peers.
The participating students noted that the project significantly improved their foreign language skills, communication abilities, teamwork, and self-confidence. Their teacher, Angelica Bulai, observed a remarkable change in them upon returning home: “They came back more open-minded, braver, and more engaged. They understood that Europe is not just a geographic space but a community built on shared values.”

Romanyalı Öğrenciler, “Folk Dance Fiesta” ile Türkiye’de Kültür Elçileri Oldu
Romanya’nın Focșani kentindeki Colegiul Tehnic „Valeriu D. Cotea” lisesinden yedi öğrenci, 9-15 Haziran 2025 tarihleri arasında Türkiye’nin Kütahya şehrinde gerçekleştirilen uluslararası “Folk Dance Fiesta” projesine katılarak Romanya’yı temsil etti.
Türkiye, Romanya, Macaristan ve Slovakya’dan gençleri buluşturan proje; kültürel çeşitlilik, kapsayıcılık ve ortak Avrupa kimliği gibi değerler etrafında şekillendi. Etkinlik boyunca öğrenciler halk dansları atölyelerine, kültürlerarası öğrenme oturumlarına ve sosyal etkinliklere katıldı.
Projenin en dikkat çeken bölümü, her ülkenin kendi kültürünü, geleneksel danslarını, yemeklerini ve müziklerini tanıttığı Kültür Gecesi oldu. Romanyalı öğrenciler, Vrancea bölgesine özgü ürünler ve folklorik bir gösteriyle büyük beğeni topladı. Öğrenciler, Avrupa’daki akranlarına kendi kültürlerini tanıtmanın heyecanını ve gururunu yaşadıklarını dile getirdi.
Katılımcı öğrenciler, bu projenin kendilerine yabancı dil becerileri, iletişim, ekip çalışması ve özgüven anlamında önemli katkılar sunduğunu ifade etti. Öğretmenleri Angelica Bulai ise dönüşte öğrencilerinde büyük bir değişim gözlemlediğini belirtti: “Daha açık fikirli, daha cesur ve daha sorumluluk sahibi döndüler. Avrupa’nın sadece coğrafi bir alan değil, ortak bir değerler bütünü olduğunu anladılar.”
Projenin Romanya’daki yerel koordinasyonu Allons-y Derneği tarafından yürütüldü. Synaos Think Tank Association olarak, bu değerli çalışmayı Ziarul de Vrancea gazetesinde haberleştiren ve iş birliğimizi görünür kılan sevgili Angelica Bulai’ye içten teşekkürlerimizi sunarız.
